Since its publication a few years ago, our book, Graphic Design and Religion has gotten some great press. The latest feature of the book comes from the German magazine, Novum. Their entire March 2012 issue is dedicated exclusively to the subject of religion and design. We were lucky enough to receive an entire spread!
And like us, they believe there's a need for higher quality in design that serves religion. "It is indeed possible to combine seriousness, trust, community, openness, tradition and modernity within a harmonious visual design – religious design, like all design, should in the end get under the skin and awaken emotions. In essence, whether you are dealing with jeans or Jesus—you have to bring out the quality," says Bettina Schulze, Novum's Editor-in-chief. We couldn't agree more.
This issue a great read if you can get your hands on a copy, each of which is bi-lingual. So fear not you non-German readers.
