Saint John's Abbey Style Guide & Rebranding

The monks at Saint John’s Abbey were in need of a style guide to help them unify and coordinate the independent efforts of their many offices and services. We began by refreshing their primary identity elements, and establishing the basis for a system that could be applied across a broad range of branded communications. The cross emblem, based upon an original design by the late Frank Kacmarcik, was optimized for more effective viewing across all media platforms.

A digital style guide was then developed to clarify best practices for all of the Abbey’s brand elements, including logo treatments, typography, photography, tone and style.

 

To solidify this new identity system, Kantor Group has been engaged to serve as the principal designers for their higher profile communications media. Saint John’s Abbey chose Kantor Group due, in part, to our book, Graphic Design and Religion. Learn more about the book here »
